HALIFAX AGRICULTURAL SHOW
Halifax Agricultural Show is one of the biggest, best and most respected family days out in West Yorkshire. It has been described as managing to retain the heritage of traditional Yorkshire county and agricultural shows with cattle, horses, goats, sheep and vintage vehicles, whilst embracing the whole family including children, grandparents and family pets. We think it showcases a wide variety of the best of traditional and modern classes and entertainment, which attracts families from all over Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford, Calderdale and the rest of Yorkshire.
Halifax Show continues to try to bring you attractions you have unlikely to seen in Halifax before, and 2018 welcomed four big attractions: The Britalian Job recreating the famous chase scene from The Italian Job with a trio of Mini Coopers; The Sheep Show introducing various sheep with a story to tell and a dance to their own theme tune; The City of York Pipe Band playing a vast repertoire of music; plus The Yorkshire Air Ambulance landing so you can see them up close. Other attractions included; The Rockwood Harriers, Chick Hatching, Saxon Karate Club, Ferret Racing, Halifax Jiu Jitsu, Bee Displays, Alpacas, Dry Stone Walling, Mini Zoo, Donkey Rides, Fairground, Puppet Shows, Bouncy Castles, Children’s Competitions, Local Community Groups, plus much more.
As usual there were thousands of exhibits in hundreds of classes covering competitions for horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, eggs, vintage vehicles, horticulture, handicrafts, rabbits, cavies, mice, bees – plus our ever-popular fun dog show. There were also over sixty trade stands and craft stalls around the showground – from artisan foods to handicrafts and from local businesses to charity fundraising – plus there were our usual food court and beer tent.
And don’t forget to add Saturday 10th August 2019 to your event calendar, the date of the next show.
