Press Release July

The annual Halifax Show has officially announced the line up for this year’s show which is being held on Saturday 11th August at Savile Park, Halifax – and again they are offering something new for all the family – the young and not so young.

Chair of the organising committee Dean Fleming said “Times continue to be a financially difficult for many people and therefore we wanted to ensure that the day would be as entertainment-packed and great-value as possible for the whole family.”

This year Halifax Show welcomes not one, but three spectacles to entertain the crowds.

The first is The Britalian Job. A trio of red, white and blue Mini Coopers will recreate the famous chase scene from The Italian Job by stealing Gold Bullion from a Security van and making off with a tightly choreographed routine set to music from the iconic film. Comic capers and exciting stunt sequences will ensue and pyrotechnic special effects will thrill the audience as the doors are blown off and the heist gets underway. Great music and seamless precision driving continue are guaranteed to delight the whole family.

The second is The Sheep Show. A live stage show presented in humorous kiwi style the show introduces the crowds to nine different breeds of sheep, each with a story to tell and are welcomed on to the stage by their own theme tune. Including a very informative shearing display and dancing sheep, that adds to this already humorous but educational show.

The third is The Yorkshire Air Ambulance. The Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent charity providing a life saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across the whole of Yorkshire. Watch the helicopters land, then see them up close, meet the crews, and see the work that the team does.

As usual there will also be thousands of exhibits in hundreds of classes covering competitions for horses, ponies, cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, eggs, vintage vehicles, horticulture, handicrafts, rabbits, cvies, mice, bees – plus our ever-popular fun dog show. All schedules are now available at

And if that’s not enough, around the showground there will be the Rockwood Hounds, local community groups, children’s rides, puppet shows, play areas, children’s competitions, fairground, plus much more.

There will be over sixty trade stands and craft stalls around the showground – from artisan foods to handicrafts and from local businesses to charity fundraising – plus there will be our usual food court and beer tent.
